Tshey Gebre
20th Ward Alderman
Your Voice, Your Neighborhood, Your Future

Chicago born and bred, I am a proud homeowner, union worker, family man, and lifelong advocate for working families. I earned my associate degree from the City Colleges of Chicago and later completed my bachelor's degree in organizational leadership.
For the past six years, I have worked in the federal government, including servicing at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where I helped veterans access the benefits and support they earned through their service to our country. That experience strengthened my belief that public service means showing up for people and ensuring they receive dignity, respect, and fairness.
My role as your alderman would be to bridge the gap between the 40th Ward and the city government, through effective leadership and a deep commitment to our community's needs. I would serve as a trustworthy representative for you as alderman. I pledge to make sure community perspectives are considered, decisions are made collaboratively with the community, and my work centers on bettering the lives of constituents and serving the city's general interests.
